THESE ARE THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CLUB:

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND?  Over 10 years - founded in January, 1996

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?  Dinner 4 Six Singles Club is located in Chico, CA.  (Northern California 1 1/2 hours Northeast of Sacramento).  Mailing address is: P.O. Box 1492, Chico, CA  95927.

IS THIS A DATING SERVICE OR MATCHMAKING SERVICE?   No, we are not a dating service or matchmakers, we are opportunity makers.  We will put you in a non-threatening safe environment where you will have social contact with other singles.  Whether you want to match up or just socialize is entirely up to you.   There is absolutely no pressure to pair off.

HOW AM I PROTECTED?   Everyone uses first names only.  Everyone pays their own way.  No one is allowed to ask you out or ask for your phone number.   Most of the events are in public places.  If anyone acts inappropriately, (such as drunkenness, inappropriate touching, etc.), they are not invited back.  This is a club of ladies & gentlemen who are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

HOW DO I GET SOMEONE'S PHONE NUMBER?  After each event, members are able to request someone's phone number.  If both parties make a request, then both numbers are given out.  If only one party requests, no numbers are given out and the other party is not told that a request was made, to protect both parties from embarrassment in the future.  Your phone number is never given out without your permission. 

HOW MANY MEMBERS?    We have 300 members, which fluctuates every month as new people join, others go on hold and still others come back from having been on hold.   There is a constant flow of new faces this way.

HOW OLD ARE THEY?   From 25 years old to 85 years old.  Dinners 4 Six are planned with age groups in mind.  There is about a 10 year age span at any dinner 4 six.  Most of the activities, mixers and speed dating have participants over 40.  The under 40 age group prefers the dinners 4 six.

WHICH AGE GROUP IS THE LARGEST?   There are more babyboomers in the club, just like there are more babyboomers in the general population.

WHERE DO THEY LIVE?  Over half of them live in Chico, California and the rest live in the surrounding communities such as Paradise, Red Bluff, Gridley, Willows, Oroville, Corning, Durham, Orland, etc.  A few travel to our events from Redding or Yuba City/Marysville.

MORE MEN OR MORE WOMEN?  The club has slightly more women than men, just like the general population.  However, at most events every effort is made to make sure equal numbers of men and women attend.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE JOIN?   Quality people who do not want to pick up someone at a bar, who believe that the best way to judge compatibility & chemistry is to meet people face to face.   Most are fit & trim, attractive singles who are financially stable and care about their appearance.   They are all very friendly and open to meeting and socializing with new people.  All different walks of life are included such as:  teachers, hair stylists, nurses, business owners, dentists, farmers, secretaries, attorneys, technicians, doctors, accountants, retail sales clerks, etc.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?   It is $200 initiation fee for a lifetime membership.  This is a one time only initiation fee, not an annual one.  Dues are $25 per calendar month.  (Save money and pay only $150 initiation fee if you agree to an auto-debit for $20 monthly dues.)  If you put your membership on hold to date exclusively and give 30 days notice, then you don't pay dues.  If you decide to re-activate your membership, you simply pay dues again.  If it has been more than 6 mos. since you were active in the club, there is a $50 re-activation fee.

CAN I TRY BEFORE I BUY?  Yes, a non-member can attend one activity, one Wed night mini-mixer and one dinner 4 six prior to joining the club.  You just pay for your own meal.  Non-members are welcome to attend unlimited monthly mixers and unlimited speed dating.  Check the EVENTS page to see what is planned this month.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED THIS MONTH?  Different activities are planned by the members each month.  Go to the EVENTS page to see what's happening currently.  As a member, you would be able to suggest or plan the activity of your choice (such as bowling, horseback riding, tennis, etc)

PRIVACY?   Your privacy is always protected.  We do not sell or give your contact information to any other organizations, telemarketers or other businesses for any reason.  If you use a credit card or debit card to join, this information is also protected.

WHO RUNS THE CLUB?  Shawn Davis (formerly Ramsey) has been running this club since April 1997.  Whether you call or email, she is usually the person you will have contact with.  She runs the club from a home office.  She was single for 10 years, after a 23 year marriage ended in divorce, so she is very sympathetic to those newly single who feel like a fish out of water.
